These are the revised rules for the Alphabet Legacy Challenge.
BIRTH
Each generation goes in alphabetical order until the end. This means there should be 26 generations plus the first starter generation. The challenge ends with the birth of the 3rd child of the 'Z' generation.
Each generation reached will gain 1 point. This should result in 26 guaranteed points at the end of the challenge.
Each generation must produce at least 3 babies. Bonuses will be offered for generations that have more than 3 children.
Every 8 generations, a set of twins must be born. Cheesecake may be used to produce this compulsory set of twins, but must not be used to gain the extra twins for point bonuses. Needless to say, hacks can not be used.
Also, children taken by the social worker will require a 1 point deduction per child taken. Take care of your children!
If one generation has less than 3 naturally born children, deduct 2 points.
If one generation has only 1 child, deduct 3 points.
However, if the reason for this is due to spouse death, do not deduct points.
If one generation has at least 5 NATURALLY BORN CHILDREN (all of these offers regard natural born children - you may not adopt to get to the 3 child mark unless the female spouse has entered elderhood) then you receive 2 points.
If a generation has 7 children, receive 3 points.
If a generation has 10 children, you may gain a whopping 6 points.
If a generation reaches 15 children (this is a hard one which will involve much elixir), then you will gain 10 points.
After this, you may add 1 point per child born to a set of parents, although needless to say, most players will not bother with this as 15+ children will be a lot of effort to take care of.
N.B. All of the above points related to how many children are born are NOT combinable (e.g. if you have 5 children, and claim 2 points, then you get 2 more children, you lose the 5 children 2 point bonus and receive the 7 children 3 point bonus, you do NOT combine the points to receive 5 points.)
Another birth bonus regards twins. Other than the compulsory set of twins per 8 generations, every optional set of twins will gain 1 extra point.
A bonus based completely on luck regards twins as well. If 3 consecutive births to a set of parents results in twins, you may gain 3 points, plus the 2 points for 5 children.
However, for those with OFB. Cheesecake is completely banned, except for the compulsory twins, which can soften the challenge a little. So, that means if you know how to make cheesecake, it'll be a once-every-8-generations thing. Deduct 5 points for optional twins from cheesecake. Cheesecake may be eaten by non-pregnant sims only.
N.B. By generation above, I mean to one set of parents. Children points can not be acheived by a spread over a generation, e.g. If Timmy has 3 children, and is the heir, but his sister Tammy has 4 children, you can not claim points from Tammy's children as they are not in the main line. This does not apply to the compulsory twins per 8 generations, as they may be acheived in any part of the family tree, as long as there is one at least every 8 generations.
So, in summary.
Each generation = 1 point
-1 point per child taken by social worker
1 gen < 3 children = -2 points
1 gen has only 1 child = -3 points
Ignore less than 3 children if due to spouse death.
5+ children = 2 points
7+ children = 3 points
10+ children = 6 points
15 children = 10 points
1 point gained for every child born to set of parents after birth of 15th child.
Optional twins (after compulsory twins) = 1 point
3 consecutive sets of twins to one set of parents = 6 points
DOWNGRADING
To make sure things don't get easy after the first few generations, every 6 generations, you must sell all un-necessary objects (paintings, bubble blower, table), and downgrade all necessary objects (bed, fridge). All skill objects and things which can be used for skilling can be kept. After this, you must use familyfunds to reset your funds to $1,000.
However, objects used for skilling (such as the TV, a PC, a bookcase) must be downgraded as far as possible.
The point of downgrading is to keep the challenge extra hard.
If downgrading is not done every 6 generations, deduct 20 points.
However, downgrading will not apply to shops if you own them, as shops will be a useful way of making back your money, and they're hard enough as it is. This includes home businesses.
Also, you can not buy back all your stuff from a human character shop, unless the prices are set at Cheap. Cheap is the lowest price you can buy from.
If this is followed, downgradings should come at generations E, J, O, and T. The Y downgrading will not be done as those last 8 generations will be the true source of the majority of your points, and a late hit like that would just be too unfair scorewise.
ALL OTHER THINGS
Xtreme starts will be rewarded with 5 points.
A Legacy business (from Gen 1 to Gen 27) which is successfully maintained until the end will bag you an extra 20 points, so it's well worth it. Deduct one point from this bonus per bad review, and add 5 if the 'Best-of-the-Best' reward is achieved. To gain the 20 points, the shop MUST be Rank 10 by the conclusion of the Legacy (e.g. the birth of the third 'Z' sim'.). If it is Rank 9, gain 17 points. If it is Rank 8, gain 15 points. No points are gainable further down.
A 10 point bonus is given for not using any NPCs (Maid, Gardener, etc.). This excludes police and firefighters, which are pretty much essential. This is only claimable if robots are not used as replacements.
A 2 point bonus is offered for not using robots at all during the Legacy.
A 2 point bonus is offered for having a Servo activated CONTINUOUSLY on the lot from Gen 1 until the end of the Legacy. This must be the same Servo all the way through.
A 5 point bonus is offered if this Servo does not need repairing at all over this time. Good luck!
Obviously, all Business/robot bonuses do not apply if OFB is not owned.
If 10 gold graves (obtained with platinum deaths) are obtained in a row (As in subsequently - no none platinum deaths), then a 5 point bonus will be obtained. This is one shot - it can only be claimed once.
If ALL deaths on the lot within the family are platinum and result in gold graves, collect a 15 point bonus. Hard to get - and I assume your lot will be quite slow by the end unless you are the proud owner of an Alienware or some other kick- computer/laptop. EDIT: Something I had forgotten earlier, you can use a Legacy graveyard plot with Nightlife and send all your gold graves there!
All graves are allowed to be deleted, however, photographic proof must be offered to claim the 10 gold graves in a row/all deaths are gold graves. I do appreciate that lots of graves will lead to slow and buggy lots (unless moved to a family graveyard). If you are going for the gold graves challenge, and you succeed, feel free to delete the graves after obtaining the photographic proof. (Or just send all the graves to a family graveyard)
If there are any other rule suggestions, PM me with details, and they may be added to this post. Other rules and point scoring will go under the normal
Good luck!
